Poultry Grit

Steel Industry

Limestone extracted from our quarry is used in the steel industry for conversion of iron ore into crude iron which is an intermediate product of the steel making process. It acts as a flux agent and plays a vital role in the formation of slag to ensure the removal of impurities.

Environmental Applications (Desulfurization)     

Ground calcium carbonate is mildly alkaline and is used in a variety of environmental applications. It is the most common reagent used in flue-gas desulfurization, removing harmful SO2 emissions from coal and other fossil fuel exhausts. It is also used to de-acidify lakes and neutralize acidic water runoff from mines.

Water Treatment

Our limestone grades are granular and contain properties like slow dissolution rate, that make them safe in pH adjustment, corrosion control and re-mineralization of reverse osmosis systems.

Paints & Coatings

Ground calcium carbonate (GCC) is commonly used in a number of paint and coating applications. It is used to either reduce or enhance gloss, as an extender / spacer for titanium dioxide, as a rheology modifier and as a paint and coating additive to densify the product.

PVC Industry

PVC is a very versatile polymer and is used in a wide range of applications from cables, flooring and window profiles to packaging, wall coverings and drainage systems. Limestone fillers such as ground calcium carbonate powders can be added to plasticized PVC and plastisol for improved strength and durability.

Adhesives & Sealants

Calcium Carbonate is a common additive for many adhesives and sealants adding durability and strength. We produce ground limestone fillers for use in areas where high loadings are essential, such as ceramic tile adhesives (CTAs), grouts and joint.

Rubber Industry

Rubber can benefit greatly from added ground calcium carbonate. Our limestone fillers are the perfect addition to rubber when used for hoses, tires and extruded profiles as well as in other general rubber molded components.

Glass

Our high-purity limestone is suitable for the glass industry and contains extremely low levels of metal contaminants. It finds application in the making of container glass which is used to produce bottles and jars.

Concrete Products

Our limestone can be used in concrete aggregates for cast stone, walling, precast, bricks, paving and ready mix usage.

Railroad Ballast         

Ballast acts as a support base for the railroad track structure giving it strength and rigidity but also allowing for flexibility when trains pass over. Limestone is often most used as ballasting because it is a hard stone that will lock together providing for extra strength.
